Artwork by Annette Tardiff Currently on Display at AVH

Annette Tardiff is the current visiting artist at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital Auxiliary Rotating Art Program in the AVH Cafeteria.  All are welcome to stop by and view the art exhibit during Cafeteria hours, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 6:30 PM, and Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.  Ms. Tardiff provides the following biography of herself.

“I owe my love of nature to my beloved folks, Doris and Lionel Tardiff, whose reverence for the Lord’s ultimate cathedral was instilled in all six of their kids from childhood.  This would eventually translate into the three mediums I passionately pursue: photography, oil painting, and stained glass.  The bulk of my nature photos are taken while kayaking in my two favorite haunts, the Pontook Logans in Dummer, NH, and the Umbagog Wildlife Refuge in Errol, NH.  These are “Nature University” at its finest, affording unsurpassed beauty.

“David Lee Mountain taught me some basic skills in still lifes and florals, and I taught myself nature-based themes.  The greatest lessons that I learned from Dave were confidence to pursue painting as well as joy in the process.

“The polar bears, wolves, and emperor penguins were all painted from calendar shots, thus not original.  The rest are original, many painted from reference photos.

“Dawn Bechtold, a personal friend and gifted stained glass artist, taught me how to cut and assemble glass in an intense four-hour lesson employing the copper foil method.  I was immediately hooked.  Dawn’s work graces the Lancaster Court House and is well worth stopping in to view, as it is amazing!

“My sincere thanks to Sue Wyman and Linda Morris for having afforded me the honor of partaking in the AVH Auxiliary Rotating Art Program.  Thanks folks for having taken a moment in your undoubtedly busy schedules to view my art.”

Every six weeks, the AVH Auxiliary Rotating Art Program features an artist and his/her work for display in the AVH Cafeteria.  If you are, or know, an artist or craftsperson who would like to exhibit in the Program, please call Linda Morris, Volunteer Coordinator and AVH Auxiliary President, at 326-5676.  A proud partner of North Country Healthcare, AVH is on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Pinterest.
