Pulmonary Rehabilitation
Androscoggin Valley Hospital's Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Program works to reduce shortness of breath with daily activities and ability to manage breathing, increase a patient's understanding of their condition, improve overall quality of life and reduce hospital stays.
The Pulmonary Rehabilitation team consists of several clinical members (physical therapist, registered nurse, respiratory therapist and nutritionist) to guide patients in their care. The team has extensive experience working with patients and their families affected by various breathing disorders.
The AVH Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program features:
- Program meets Monday, Wednesday and Friday for 60-to-90 minutes per meeting
- Program lasts 8-to-10 weeks
- Each session includes stretching, resistance training and cardiovascular training
- Formal education classes occur 1-to-2 times per week
Eligibility
Any Patient with chronic lung disease including but not limited to:
- COPD
- Asthma
- Restrictive Lung Disease
- Chronic Bronchitis
