Loop or Event Monitor

A Loop Monitor or Event Monitor is a small, lightweight device that is used to take tracings of a patient's heart rhythm. The service typically lasts between two and four weeks. During that time, the patient can, with use of the monitor, record one's symptoms whenever and wherever they occur. When the patient experiences a symptom, he/she uses the monitor to record his/her heart rhythm. Once an episode has been recorded, a toll-free number, listed on the front of the monitor, can be called. The recording is then transmitted via the telephone. Highly-trained staff, available 24 hours per day, seven days per week will answer the call. The monitor is simple to use, and complete instructions are provided at the time of the patient's appointment.

Loop Monitoring is routinely conducted through AVH. For more information, please call (603) 326-5847.
